This is a decent Sushi place. It is not authentic and like most Japanese places around Kensington and Downtown, they are mostly ran by Chinese. The restaurant is very small and have very limited seats.

The Sushi were ok but there were some flaws.
I came here with my sister and we ordered:
    - Maki Combo #2 (came with Dynamite roll, California roll and Tuna rolls)
    - Prawn Tempura
    - Sake Donburi

The bill with tips and everything came to slightly over $50~

Prices were pretty much the same with most sushi places in Calgary. The Sake was ok but not like super fresh. The prawn tempura batter was fresh fried but it was lacking some flavors. The avocado in the California roll was very cold and hard. It was not ripe enough. The other rolls were ok. The sushi rice that they used to make the donburi and the sushi was lacking in the right amount of vinegar.

The owner/server was very nice and offered us a to try a sample of their salmon tempura. We got 3 pieces of that. It was not bad. It was basically the same batter that they used in the prawn tempura. Portion was a pretty good size.

There was only one server on the night we went. But again there were only 2 other tables. So they were not busy.

Like I said they are decent but not good and not wow.

Tenshi is that tiny sushi place in Kensington.  It's a pretty small venue (some would say "intimate"), with a well decorated and dimly lit ambiance.  Tenshi is good sushi.  Best edemame I've had recently (forgot the photo).

As should be reasonably apparent, I've been to a fair few sushi restaurants of late.  I've noticed that some of these restaurants have "Do it Yourself" menus, which are lists of menu items that diners are meant to use to mark/tally/record their order.  Fine.  Tenshi has a sushi list (i.e. only the sushi is on the list), which doesn't actually reflect the whole menu.  When we ordered, there was a little confusion as some of the order was "list based" and some was "menu based".  The waiter came back once or twice to verify what we'd ordered and I'm reasonably certain that something was inadvertently substituted.  Oh well.  The food was good and I really had no complaints... more of a pet peeve.

In any event, I ordered edemame, salmon sashimi, tuna maki and avocado/asparagus maki.  The vegetarian rolls were a little loose, which was likely because they were of the "rice on the outside variety.  My friend ordered the smoked salmon sashimi salad.

    Tenshi is a "strong good".

Our favorite Japanese restaurant in Alberta!  We always go here.  Love their portion sizes and the prices are reasonable too

In all honesty the service is slow. Do not go if your in a hurry. But if you have time to spare it's a really cute sushi joint with good quality items
